动词时态句型: 过去完成时

过去完成时表示在过去某时间之前已完成某事情或动作。
1. 过去完成时的肯定形式为had + 过去分词。had 可以缩写为 'd。
By the time they arrived at the station, the train had gone. 他们到达车站的时候，火车已经离开。
They had built three houses in their village by the end of the last year. 到去年年底，他们已经在村里建了三所房子？
2. 否定形式为 had not + 过去分词。had not 可缩写为 hadn't。
She asked why he had not thought of that before. 她问他为什么以前没想到这一点。
The boy was so hungry because he hadn't seen food for two days. 那个男孩饿极了，因为他已有两天没见过食物。
3. 一般疑问句
Had he called the police by 10 o'clock? 他在10点之前打电话给警察了吗？
Had the thieves run away before the police arrived? 小偷在警察到达之前就已经跑掉了吗？
4. 特殊疑问句
How many bottles of water had they sent by the end of last month? 到上个月底，他们总共送来了多少瓶水？
Peter and I knew that it was a cat, but where had it come from? 彼得和我知道它是一只猫，但是它来自哪里呢？
